Hello, I’m

Vitor Machado

Software architect at Ferreira Costa and Doctor of Systems Engineering and Computer Science. Ten years building web products end to end — TypeScript and Node.js at the core, React and Next.js on the front, on AWS — and today leading the adoption of agentic AI development (Claude, Codex, OpenCode) across engineering, with research published on temporal logics for social networks.

About me

I have spent about ten years building software, almost all of it on the web. Today I am a software architect at Ferreira Costa, Brazil’s second-largest home improvement retailer, where I lead the adoption of agentic AI development — Claude, Codex, OpenCode and agentic orchestration with ADEs like Orca — and help shape the upstream and downstream frameworks other teams build on. Before that I spent nearly four years as tech lead and engineering manager at Passei Direto, a learning platform with more than 20 million study materials, and led a team of fourteen at a health tech startup through the pandemic.

My doctorate is in Artificial Intelligence at PESC/COPPE (UFRJ), on temporal logics for social networks — the work was published in the Journal of Logic and Computation. Brazilian Portuguese is my native language and my English is advanced in writing and speaking (TOEFL ITP: 667/677). Away from the keyboard I shoot RAW and draw vector art; some of it ends up on Flickr and Unsplash.
